en.Wedoany.com Reported - Nepal Telecom (NTC) is expanding mobile network coverage in the Chitwan region, with a focus on enhancing 4G services. The company is simultaneously broadening coverage and improving existing network quality to strengthen connectivity across various areas in the region.

After recently launching a cellular network in the Tikauli jungle area, NTC is extending coverage to more regions. The company is prioritizing improvements in network quality along highways to ensure telecommunication services for local residents and travelers.

Rakesh Chaudhary, Chief Deputy Manager of Nepal Telecom's office in Bharatpur, stated that the company is expanding and enhancing network capacity in the following areas: Lamahal in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29, Hattibang in Ichchakamana, Amarauli and Baghauda in Madi, the Bharatpur Hospital area, the Ramnagar-Patihani road section, the Tikauli-Ratnanagar highway, Chaubiskoti, and the area around CMC Hospital.

The government-backed company is adding new towers in areas with low coverage while strengthening the capacity of existing operational sites. Chaudhary noted that the company has installed additional equipment at the Ramnagar road junction to address network fault complaints on the East-West Highway.

Power supply issues around the Chitwan National Park leading to the Madi area pose challenges for network expansion. In the current fiscal year, NTC has expanded to areas such as Simaldhap, Tiruwa Danda (Kalika-1), Panyadanda, Chowkidanda, Mohana, Khairhani, and Mangalpur. New towers have been built in some of these locations, while solar-powered towers have been installed in areas without electricity infrastructure.

Currently, 132 mobile tower base transceiver stations are operational in Chitwan. Chaudhary stated that NTC is installing additional equipment based on population density to improve service quality. In the next fiscal year, the company plans to soon build 10 new mobile towers and activate more towers at other locations in the region as needed. To address mobile service disruptions caused by power outages, efforts are underway to promote alternative energy sources and backup systems in areas including West Chitwan and Divyanagar.
