en.Wedoany.com Reported - Cyprium Metals (ASX:CYM) has confirmed extensive copper mineralization through drilling at the Nifty copper mine waste dump in Western Australia, with exploration operations revealing significant intercepts across a 750-meter by 250-meter area.
The company completed a total of 133 reverse circulation (RC) holes for 2,697 meters, targeting visible oxide copper mineralization in the waste dump. Key intercepts include: 26NFLG050 from surface returned 9 meters at 1% copper (Cu), including 4 meters at 1.83% Cu from 2 meters; 26NFLG060 from surface returned 7 meters at 1.11% Cu, including 3 meters at 1.55% Cu; and 26NFLG021 from surface returned 9 meters at 0.80% Cu, including 2 meters at 1.56% Cu from 5 meters.
An additional 38 exploration drill holes totaling 797 meters, with a spacing of approximately 100 meters, returned results requiring follow-up, including 26NFLG069 from 18 meters returned 3 meters at 0.88% Cu, and 26NFLG143 from 10 meters returned 6 meters at 0.53% Cu, including 1 meter at 1.89% Cu from 11 meters.
Executive Chairman Matt Fifield stated that materials considered waste or low-grade in the 1990s may now hold economic value under current conditions, similar to the mine's open pit reserve grade of 0.9%, which is nearly double the grade typically advanced in greenfield projects today. The company is applying 2026 market conditions, mechanical capabilities, and technology to 1993 geological data, laying the foundation for building Australia's next major copper company.
The oxide copper mineralization in the waste dump provides potential feed for a future refurbished heap leach and SXEW plant, located approximately 1.2 kilometers from the existing heap leach pad and accessible via existing haul roads.
Cyprium Metals is restarting the Nifty Copper Complex in stages. Phase one involves re-leaching the existing above-ground heap leach pad and refurbishing the SXEW plant to support an initial cathode copper production capacity of approximately 6,000 tonnes per year. The company plans further drilling to define and infill the main mineralized zone, while conducting follow-up drilling around the newly discovered mineralized area. An external technical consultant will provide the first mineral resource estimate for the waste dump mineralization.
Cyprium Metals is a Western Australian copper developer advancing the restart of the Nifty Copper Complex, focusing on staged production through heap leach and SXEW operations. The company will attend the Noosa Mining Conference, to be held from July 22 to 24, 2026, at Peppers Noosa Resort in Noosa Heads, Queensland.
