During the meeting, CRAN Board Chairman Elwis Nashilongo reaffirmed the Board's commitment to transforming the communications regulator into a smart, digital institution. The Board stated that it will prioritize innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and support Namibia's digital transformation agenda.

Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Theofelus, urged the Board to provide strategic leadership as Namibia navigates an increasingly complex digital landscape. The Minister also announced that the Ministry is working to finalize the Cybercrime Bill and the Data Protection Bill, both of which are crucial for strengthening Namibia's digital governance framework. The proposed laws are expected to provide stronger mechanisms to combat cybercrime, address digital violence, and protect citizens' personal information and digital rights.
