Despite recent geopolitical conflicts, QatarEnergy is pushing forward with the North Field West Expansion project, demonstrating its optimism about long-term LNG demand prospects and its commitment to solidifying its position in the global LNG market. This contract covers the critical offshore link for the entire expansion project, encompassing the design, procurement, prefabrication, installation, and tie-in of subsea gas pipelines and associated composite cables. The pipelines will connect the new wellhead platforms in the western block of the North Field to the onshore LNG processing facilities in Ras Laffan Industrial City.

Located in Qatari waters and connected to Iran's South Pars gas field, the North Field is the world's largest non-associated gas field discovered to date. This tender will add two mega-trains to the project, expected to commence production between 2031 and 2032, increasing Qatar's LNG production capacity by 16 million tons per year and boosting the country's total LNG production capacity to 142 million tons per year by the end of 2030.
