en.Wedoany.com Reported - Chinese robotics company Unitree Robotics recently announced that it will host the "CMG 2026 Humanoid Robot Combat Competition." The event is produced by the Social Education Program Center of China Media Group, with specific dates, locations, and competition rules to be announced later. Unitree Robotics stated that this will be a hardcore tech showcase that "validates technology through combat."

It is reported that the competition consists of three parts: a robotics industry carnival, mecha combat qualifying rounds, and the finals "Champion Night." The event will break away from the joystick remote control mode used in the first edition in 2025, introducing cutting-edge technologies such as "human-machine collaborative real-time motion capture" and "AI autonomous decision-making combat." Wang Xingxing, founder and CEO of Unitree Robotics, stated that the 2025 event attracted media attention from over 100 countries worldwide. This year's competition will feature fully upgraded full-size humanoid robots and extend invitations to global robotics companies and secondary development teams.
Unitree Robotics officially entered the humanoid robot field in 2023. Its G1 humanoid robot stands approximately 132 cm tall and weighs about 35 kg, while the H2 is a next-generation full-size general-purpose humanoid robot, approximately 180 cm tall and weighing about 70 kg, with 31 high-precision joints distributed throughout its body. Both models will be registered for the competition. In the released promotional video, the G1 and H2 robots demonstrate synchronized training with human coaches, shadow boxing, and sparring scenarios. Unitree Robotics positions this competition as "the opening of a co-evolution process between humans and robots."
