en.Wedoany.com Reported - Germany's Siemens Mobility has signed a cooperation agreement with French railway vehicle maintenance company Technis to jointly build a service network for Vectron locomotives that will operate in the French market in the future. Under the agreement, Siemens Mobility will have access to 11 service centers deployed by Technis along major French railway corridors, as well as support from its mobile service team and nearly 500 specialized employees.

Vectron locomotives have not yet entered commercial operation in France. Siemens Mobility plans to prepare localized maintenance services before the delivery of the first locomotives. Technis's maintenance centers are located in cities such as Lens, Dijon, and Thionville, covering major freight and passenger rail lines in France. The company also has a mobile service team capable of working close to locomotive operating areas.

The maintenance centers involved in this cooperation will be connected to Siemens Mobility's network of repair workshops and service facilities across Europe. Elmar Zeiler, Head of Customer Services at Siemens Mobility, stated that the French rail market is of great significance for the continued expansion of Vectron in Europe. By leveraging Technis's local centers and combining them with its own expertise, digital tools, and spare parts logistics, a foundation for high locomotive availability can be established.

For operators, a localized service network is one of the key factors in selecting railway vehicles. The presence of maintenance centers can prevent prolonged downtime caused by long-distance transport of locomotives to overseas repair workshops. Tristan Rouzès, President of Technis, said that Vectron has achieved notable success in Europe, and the company looks forward to its operation in France, ready to provide nationwide maintenance services.

Siemens Mobility has previously carried out maintenance work for Vectron locomotives in several European countries, using diagnostic and predictive maintenance systems to identify issues before they occur. The manufacturer has a centralized logistics system with access to over 8,000 spare parts reference numbers. In France, the identification, ordering, and delivery of spare parts will be supported by Siemens Mobility's digital platform MoBase. The company stated that integrating Technis centers with digital tools and the European network helps reduce locomotive downtime in repair workshops and improve fleet availability.
