en.Wedoany.com Reported - Rosatom (Росатом) plans to launch a superfactory for lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles in the Moscow region by the end of 2026.
According to TASS, citing Alexander Bukhvalov, head of the "Electric Mobility" business direction at TVEL, the company is currently producing and delivering products, and plans to launch another superfactory in the Moscow region by the end of this year, with a total installed capacity of 8 GWh.

Bukhvalov noted that production capacity is ready to be scaled up in response to market demand. He also added that the charging infrastructure produced by the company will be installed in Yekaterinburg, and discussions are currently underway with local authorities to assess demand.
Earlier reports indicated that the new factory will become Rosatom's second superfactory for producing lithium-ion energy storage devices for electric vehicles and power systems. The first such factory was put into trial operation in December 2025 in the city of Neman, Kaliningrad region. Once both factories are operational, they will fully meet domestic market demand in Russia as well as Rosatom's export project needs in the field of energy storage systems. Each superfactory will have an annual production capacity of 50,000 traction battery units, suitable for electric buses, electric vehicles (including taxis, car-sharing vehicles, and private cars), electric river vessels, trams, and personal mobility devices.
