en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 14, the Volcán de Timanfaya resumed regular passenger and freight services between the Port of Motril (Puerto de Motril) and the Moroccan cities of Alhucemas and Nador, reestablishing two maritime routes.

The ferry arrived in Motril from Algeciras and then departed on its first commercial voyage carrying 839 passengers and 188 vehicles to Alhucemas. With the vessel back in operation, Motril has restored regular services on these routes, which are vital for passenger and vehicle traffic as well as cargo transport between the Mediterranean and North Africa, especially during the summer "Operation Passage of the Strait (Operación Paso del Estrecho)" when demand increases significantly.

José García Fuentes, President of the Port Authority of Motril, stated that with the return to regular schedules, the Motril-Alhucemas and Motril-Nador routes continue to provide a strategic alternative for maritime traffic between Andalusia and northern Morocco, consolidating the Port of Motril's position as a key link between Southern Europe and the African continent. The port offers daily maritime services, operational flexibility, and good facilities and services for passengers crossing the strait.

The departure schedule for the Volcán de Timanfaya is as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday to Alhucemas; Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday to Nador.
