en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 16, the first 93,000 cubic meter Very Large Ammonia Carrier (VLAC) built by Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, for AW Shipping was officially signed and delivered.

The 93,000 cubic meter VLAC is a derivative model (Panda 93A) of the fourth-generation Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) independently developed and designed by Jiangnan Shipyard. It is currently the world's largest ammonia carrier, with an overall length of 230.0 meters, a depth of 22.5 meters, a structural draft of 13.0 meters, and is classed by Lloyd's Register. During the design of this vessel, special reinforcement was made to the cargo tank structure considering the higher density of anhydrous ammonia compared to conventional liquefied petroleum gas. Additionally, a fully independently developed new-generation low-resistance hull form was adopted, ensuring excellent and balanced performance under full load, ballast, and various liquid cargo loading conditions.

Through efficient multi-party collaboration and reliance on a mature engineering management system, the vessel accelerated key milestones: 56 days after undocking, the inclining test was completed; 74 days later, the combined sea trial commenced. Before the sea trial, all mooring and coating items were completed, achieving full vessel readiness. After returning from the sea trial, despite adverse factors such as persistent rainy weather, all departments worked in coordination to streamline the entire chain, efficiently closing out various owner and classification society comments, ensuring on-time delivery.
