Named the Maran Menelaus, the vessel has a deadweight tonnage of 155,500 tons and was built by China's New Times Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., flying the Greek flag. New Times Shipbuilding delivered the vessel to the Greek shipowner on July 14.

The Maran Menelaus is the third dual-fuel Suezmax tanker in a series of eight vessels. Founded in 1947, the Angelicoussis Group is a group of privately owned shipping affiliates, operating a diversified fleet through Athens-based Maran Tankers Management (MTM), Maran Gas Maritime (MGM), Maran Dry Management (MDM), and Maran Shuttle Tankers (MST) based in Stavanger, Norway, serving the oil, gas, and dry bulk markets.
Maran Tankers Management, the tanker division of the Angelicoussis Group, was established in 1992 and manages the group's tanker fleet. Currently, Maran Tankers Management operates 51 vessels with 12 on order. The group's overall fleet portfolio comprises approximately 159 vessels, with 31 ships on order.
