EVE Energy uses Arctic route to ship batteries to Europe, cutting sea transport time by nearly half

The batch of batteries was loaded on August 15 at Ningbo Zhoushan Port and carried by the container ship "Dubai Tower" via the Arctic Northeast Passage to Europe, with an expected arrival in about 20 days at Hamburg, Germany, cutting transport time by nearly half compared with traditional sea routes from China to Europe.

The battery products in this shipment come from EVE Energy's Huizhou and Jingmen production bases. After arriving in Hamburg, the cargo will continue to be distributed to European markets including Germany and Hungary. EVE Energy has already established local production facilities in Germany and Hungary, and this Arctic route shipment primarily serves its battery supply for the European market. The company did not disclose the specific battery models, loading quantities, or cargo value of this shipment.

The "Dubai Tower" departed from Ningbo Zhoushan Port on the evening of August 15, and after calling at Chinese ports including Shanghai, Taicang, and Qingdao to complete cargo consolidation, it headed toward the Arctic route. Public information from Ningbo shows that the vessel loaded 768 TEUs of energy storage systems, power batteries, and other cargo at Ningbo Zhoushan Port, and after completing calls at domestic ports, the vessel's total loading reached approximately 1,370 TEUs. The above figures represent the vessel's total cargo scale, not the shipment volume of EVE Energy as a single shipper.

The route is operated by Sea Legend Shipping and, after a trial voyage in 2025, entered regular summer operations in 2026. In 2026, at least 8 voyages are planned during the Arctic navigable window, with the route running from China along the Arctic Northeast Passage to Europe, with calls at ports including Felixstowe in the UK, Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Hamburg in Germany, and Gdynia in Poland. During the 2025 trial phase, the voyage from Ningbo to Felixstowe took approximately 20 days.

The "Dubai Tower" used by EVE Energy this time is also one of the first vessels deployed on the route after it entered regular operations in 2026.
