The province claims competitive advantages in terms of energy resource availability, strategic location in the South Atlantic, integration with the dual-ocean fiber optic corridor, and free trade zones.

Currently, all submarine cables arriving in Argentina converge on the coast of Las Toninas, while Chubut Province is located approximately 1,400 kilometers south of Las Toninas. More cables are expected to land in the future, including a terrestrial project called the "Paso Pehuenche Corridor," led by Chile's state-owned infrastructure fund Desarrollo País, which plans to lay a cross-border fiber optic cable connecting the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

Chubut Province stretches about 500 kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean to the Andes Mountains bordering Chile. It is reportedly seeking to create its own dual-ocean connection route to link the Atlantic and Pacific. However, its current focus is on securing funding for a new mooring station, for which it is seeking multilateral financing. The Patagonia region spans parts of Argentina and Chile, and several provinces in the area are also trying to attract data center investments. According to BNamericas, Argentina's total installed data center capacity is currently only 32 megawatts, distributed across 13 facilities.
