Deutsche Telekom Secures Exclusive German Broadcasting Rights for 2030 World Cup
en.Wedoany.com Reported - German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom has acquired the exclusive media rights in Germany for the 2030 FIFA Men's World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco.
CEO Rodrigo Diehl announced that the agreement covers all 104 matches of the centenary tournament, from the opening match on June 8, 2030, to the final on July 21. All matches will be broadcast exclusively via Deutsche Telekom's MagentaTV platform. The platform is likely to reach sublicensing agreements with public broadcasters ARD and ZDF.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
During the 2026 FIFA World Cup, MagentaTV recorded over 200 million viewers, with the quarterfinal match between England and Norway attracting 8 million viewers.
