en.Wedoany.com Reported - Progress is being made on the construction of the Carretera Interserrana in Nuevo León, with the first phase of the project reaching 90% completion. The highway aims to improve the logistics network in southern Nuevo León by connecting to Federal Highway 57, reducing freight transport times and enhancing regional industrial competitiveness.

In addition to logistics, the project also aims to promote economic and social development in the communities of southern Nuevo León.

The project is planned in three phases to cross the Sierra Madre Oriental, aiming to establish a more efficient transport corridor between southern Nuevo León and the country's main highway network. During an inspection tour of Section 01, Governor Samuel García stated that the highway had been awaiting federal planning for over 60 years. Due to its large scale and the route crossing the entire Sierra Madre Oriental, it has been divided into three separate projects for implementation.

Section 01 is planned to be funded with an investment of 1 billion pesos through the State Highway Network (Red Estatal de Autopistas, REA), connecting the Periférico de Monterrey to the Carretera Nacional and into the mountainous area. In addition to improving regional mobility, this phase marks the starting point of a new corridor that will provide new routes for production activities, commerce, and regional logistics.

Construction progress on Section 01 of the Interserrana Highway has reached 90%.

The project's main advantages are concentrated in Section 03, which is approximately 40 kilometers long and between 80% and 90% complete. This section will connect the Interserrana Highway to Federal Highway 57, one of the most important logistics corridors for freight transport to central Mexico. The governor noted that compared to the current route requiring a detour through Saltillo, Section 03 will reduce travel time by nearly two hours and shorten the distance by approximately 100 kilometers. The Section 02 project is ready, and the tendering and construction procedures will be initiated.

The Interserrana Highway is part of Nuevo León's infrastructure strategy, aimed at expanding the state's connectivity and creating better conditions for economic development in the south. As the various phases are gradually completed, the highway is expected to become a new hub for connectivity, logistics, and industrial competitiveness.
