Wedoany.com Report-May 27, As reported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food on May 26, Ukraine’s grain and leguminous crop exports for the 2024/25 marketing year reached 37.722 million tons. This figure reflects a decrease of 8.631 million tons, or 22.8%, compared to the previous year, indicating a notable reduction in export volumes.
Wheat exports totaled 14.635 million tons, down by 2.601 million tons, or 17.7%, from the prior year. The ministry also noted that Ukrainian farmers exported 2.293 million tons of barley and 10,800 tons of rye during the same period. Corn exports amounted to 20.234 million tons, a significant decline of 5.981 million tons, or 29.5%, compared to the previous year’s figures.
Additionally, flour exports reached 63,700 tons, equivalent to 84,900 tons in grain terms. This represents a decrease of 27,900 tons, or 43.8%, from the previous year. The reduction in exports across these categories highlights challenges faced by Ukraine’s agricultural sector in maintaining previous export levels.
The data underscores a shift in Ukraine’s grain and leguminous crop market dynamics for the 2024/25 marketing year. Despite the declines, the country continues to play a significant role in global agricultural trade, with wheat, corn, barley, rye, and flour remaining key export commodities.
