The Bangladesh-China Economic Industrial Park is a significant outcome of deepening high-quality Belt and Road cooperation between China and Bangladesh, and it is also the first national-level industrial park in Bangladesh invested in, constructed, and operated by Chinese enterprises. The project was first proposed in 2014, and in 2016, during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Bangladesh, the signing of the cooperation framework agreement was witnessed. The park is jointly invested, developed, and operated by China Road and Bridge Corporation and the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority, with a total planned area of approximately 314 hectares. Located on the east bank of the Karnaphuli River, the park is only 500 meters from the Karnaphuli River Tunnel link, 6 kilometers from Shah Amanat International Airport, and just 12 kilometers from the Chattogram port terminal, adjacent to National Highway N-1, offering significant transportation and logistics advantages. The park will focus on developing leading industries such as textiles and apparel, machinery manufacturing, electronic information, biomedicine, and green energy, and is committed to building a modern comprehensive industrial park integrating industrial clustering, investment promotion, green development, and international cooperation.
