He welcomed more Chinese enterprises to invest in Bangladesh and stated that the Bangladeshi government will continue to foster a safe and stable business environment.

Ambassador Yao Wen extended warm congratulations on the groundbreaking of the project. He pointed out that the groundbreaking of the Bangladesh-China Economic Industrial Park is an important measure to implement the outcomes of Prime Minister Tarique's visit to China in June 2026. The park will help Bangladesh improve its industrial and supply chains, expand export capacity, and boost employment. China is willing to work with Bangladesh to efficiently advance the park's construction, attract more high-quality enterprises, and build the park into a benchmark project for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.

Li Changgui, on behalf of the company, expressed gratitude to the Bangladeshi government for its long-standing trust and support for China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC). He stated that the official commencement of the park marks the project's entry into the construction and implementation phase, and CRBC will advance the park's construction to high standards, building it into an important platform for China-Bangladesh economic and trade cooperation.

The Bangladesh-China Economic Industrial Park is a significant outcome of deepening high-quality Belt and Road cooperation between China and Bangladesh, and it is also the first national-level industrial park in Bangladesh invested in, constructed, and operated by Chinese enterprises. The project was first proposed in 2014, and in 2016, during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Bangladesh, the signing of the cooperation framework agreement was witnessed. The park is jointly invested, developed, and operated by China Road and Bridge Corporation and the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority, with a total planned area of approximately 314 hectares. Located on the east bank of the Karnaphuli River, the park is only 500 meters from the Karnaphuli River Tunnel link, 6 kilometers from Shah Amanat International Airport, and just 12 kilometers from the Chattogram port terminal, adjacent to National Highway N-1, offering significant transportation and logistics advantages. The park will focus on developing leading industries such as textiles and apparel, machinery manufacturing, electronic information, biomedicine, and green energy, and is committed to building a modern comprehensive industrial park integrating industrial clustering, investment promotion, green development, and international cooperation. It is estimated that after the park becomes operational, it will create more than 100,000 direct and indirect jobs and attract at least $1.3 billion in foreign direct investment.

Since the beginning of this year, CRBC has thoroughly implemented the overall guidance of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) and the "1545" development strategy, adhering to the coordinated development of infrastructure construction and industrial investment, optimizing productivity and industrial layout around the "three major economic forms", and continuously enhancing overseas comprehensive business capabilities in accordance with the full integration route for key countries. The official commencement of the Bangladesh-China Economic Industrial Park is an important achievement of CRBC in implementing the Group's strategic deployment and promoting the transformation and upgrading of overseas business, as well as a vivid practice of translating the political consensus between China and Bangladesh into tangible cooperation results, marking the project's full entry into the construction and implementation phase.
In the next step, the Bangladesh Office of CRBC will resolutely implement the spirit of the Group's mid-year work conference, closely adhering to the work requirements of "stability, transformation, rigor, pragmatism, and innovation", continuously practicing "breaking five old patterns and establishing five new ones", advancing the park's infrastructure construction with high quality, simultaneously carrying out investment attraction and industry introduction, accelerating the creation of a benchmark overseas industrial park for the Group, and making new and greater contributions to achieving a good start for the Group and the company in the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, deepening China-Bangladesh economic and trade cooperation, and promoting local economic and social development.
