Maersk to Impose Fuel Surcharge on Northern European Land Transport from August 5

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Maersk has announced that it will impose a temporary fuel surcharge on land transport cargo destined for Northern Europe, citing a significant rise in fuel prices caused by the blockade of fuel supplies in the Middle East.

In a customer advisory, Maersk stated that it is closely monitoring the evolving situation in the Middle East and assessing its impact on land transport cargo and related services in Northern Europe. Due to upward pressure on fuel prices resulting from the blockade of fuel supplies in the Middle East, the company has decided to impose a temporary fuel/energy surcharge on all land transport cargo destined for Northern Europe until further notice.

The surcharge will take effect from August 5, 2026, for Store Door shipments, covering Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania, with applicable rates ranging from 4% in Lithuania to 18% in Estonia.

Maersk also noted that electric trucks and rail solutions are currently not subject to this surcharge, and rates will be updated weekly in response to changing circumstances.
