en.Wedoany.com Reported - Linde plans to invest $1 billion to expand its existing on-site industrial gas complex in Phoenix, USA, to support the expansion of a major global semiconductor manufacturer's production lines in Arizona. Upon completion, this investment will become one of Linde's largest investments in electronics customers worldwide.

Linde has signed a new long-term agreement with a customer, one of the world's largest semiconductor manufacturers. Under the agreement, Linde will build, own, and operate two new Spectra air separation units and related infrastructure in Phoenix, supplementing the three existing air separation units at the site. After the expansion, Linde will increase the supply of ultra-high-purity nitrogen, oxygen, and argon to support two newly built semiconductor manufacturing plants. The new plants will adopt Linde's Spectra technology to meet the purity, reliability, and operational efficiency requirements of advanced semiconductor manufacturing.

Meanwhile, Linde's joint venture partner in Taiwan, Linde Lienhwa, has been selected by the same customer to supply industrial gases for semiconductor manufacturing and advanced packaging facilities at multiple locations in Taiwan. Linde Lienhwa plans to invest approximately $800 million to build, own, and operate multiple air separation units and hydrogen production units.

Armando Botello, President of Linde Gases US, stated that advanced semiconductor manufacturing relies on the reliable supply of ultra-high-purity gases, and as global demand for advanced semiconductors continues to grow, this investment demonstrates Linde's ability to meet customer needs in terms of purity, reliability, and scale. He also noted that Linde supports its customers' expansion in the United States and Taiwan, thereby further strengthening their long-term global partnership.
