Seville Science and Technology Park Launches €4.78 Million Tender for Energy Community Pilot

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Cartuja Science and Technology Park (Parque Científico y Tecnológico Cartuja) has launched a tender for the eCitySevilla project, aimed at designing, developing, implementing, and validating an integrated energy community pilot project within Sevilla TechPark, utilizing Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and Building-to-Grid (B2G) systems, through an innovative public procurement contract for technology.

The tender has a budget of €4.78 million, with a bid submission deadline of August 28 and an execution period of 24 months, using an open procedure with ordinary processing. The project facilities must be equipped with a photovoltaic installed capacity of at least 825 kWp, along with a battery system with a usable capacity of no less than 1650 kWh.

The project also includes a green hydrogen storage pilot system, serving as a medium-to-long-duration energy storage demonstration device, complementing the battery system. It is estimated that a hydrogen capacity of 10 to 15 kilograms can recover 100 to 300 kWh of electrical energy through fuel cells, depending on the technology employed and overall efficiency.

The contract also includes the development of a B2G pilot project at the Marie Curie Technology Incubator (Tecnoincubadora Marie Curie), which is part of Sevilla TechPark. This building will operate as an active energy node, intelligently managing its own generation, storage, and consumption demands, while enabling bidirectional interaction with the grid and the park's energy platform.

This pilot project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and falls within the framework of the ERDF Andalusia 2021-2027 program.
