en.Wedoany.com Reported - Guinea bauxite miner Nimba Mining Company (NMC) has completed the signing of its mining convention, establishing a clear and stable legal framework for the company's entire value chain activities, from bauxite extraction at the Tinguilinta mine to export via the Kamsar port.

The mining convention, approved by decree, defines the mutual rights and obligations of the Guinean State and the company throughout the entire operational period, and establishes the regime applicable to NMC's activities in fiscal, customs, environmental, and social matters. This document provides certainty for the company's long-term investments, initially directed toward capacity expansion at the Tinguilinta mine site and studies on local bauxite processing.

The signing of this convention coincides with NMC's first anniversary. Chief Executive Officer Patrice L'Huillier stated that formally signing the mining convention is both an honor and a responsibility, as it provides a clear legal framework for corporate investment and long-term development. Over the past 12 months, the Guinean team has brought a mine, a railway, and a port back into operation, increasing export volumes to over 4 million tonnes. The company is channeling this momentum into the Simandou 2040 initiative, aiming to become one of its pillars.

NMC expects to increase production to 10 million tonnes this year, reaching 12 million tonnes annually from 2027 onward. The company is also launching a feasibility study for an alumina refinery with an annual capacity of 1.2 million tonnes to process the bauxite it extracts.
