Located in the Torres Strait region of Queensland, Australia, the rig's return marks the latest on-site progress following the company's previously signed drilling contract.

The rig returned is a tracked multi-purpose drill capable of both reverse circulation (RC) drilling and diamond core drilling. According to the plan announced by Alice Queen, the project will first advance multi-stage reverse circulation drilling, covering tasks such as resource exploration, extensional drilling, and infill verification, with subsequent drill hole arrangements adjusted based on stage-by-stage results.

This round of drilling will provide data for mineral resource upgrades and subsequent project studies. The resource estimate released by Alice Queen in June this year shows that the Horn Island Project hosts approximately 21.1 million tonnes of ore at an average gold grade of 0.84 grams per tonne, containing approximately 569,000 ounces of gold; the related project definition study remains at the preliminary technical and economic assessment stage, with further resource upgrade drilling, metallurgical testing, geotechnical studies, and approval work still required.
