Wedoany.com Report-Jun 5, Air Liquide, a global industrial gas company, has committed to a 70 million euro investment to construct, own, and operate a new production facility in Singapore. Under a long-term agreement, the plant will supply large volumes of ultra-high purity nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and other gases to Visionpower Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (VSMC), a joint venture between Vanguard International Semiconductor Corporation and NXP Semiconductors.
Air Liquide will build, own and operate, through a significant investment of around 70 million euros, a new industrial gas production facility in Singapore.
The state-of-the-art facility, part of Air Liquide’s Carrier Gas solution, is designed to deliver ultra-high purity gases with a compact design and high energy efficiency. This setup enhances reliability and operational efficiency for VSMC, supporting the production of advanced semiconductors. Ronnie Chalmers, Air Liquide Group Vice President Supervising Asia Pacific, stated: “We are proud to support VSMC with our technologically advanced, sustainable and efficient solutions. Located in the Tampines Wafer Fab Park, a key semiconductor hub in Singapore, the facility strengthens the country’s role as a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing, which accounts for over 20% of Singapore’s industrial output. The investment aligns with Singapore’s economic growth objectives by supporting the semiconductor sector’s expansion.
Set to begin operations in 2026, the plant responds to the growing demand for energy-efficient chips in the rapidly evolving semiconductor industry.
