en.Wedoany.com Reported - Indonesian carbon project developer PT Nusantara Raya Solusi (PT NRS) is collaborating with the farmer group of Madara Village in South Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan Province, and the Gerbang Barito Forest Management Unit (KPHL) to develop a Dayak onion cultivation project, aiming to strengthen local agricultural potential and enhance the productivity of communities surrounding the company's operational areas.

This collaboration has been implemented within PT NRS's concession area, where the land for planting and harvesting Dayak onions is jointly managed by the company and the Madara Village farmer group. Under the partnership arrangement, the farmer group serves as the primary supplier, while the company provides support to promote the sustainable development of this commodity.

Riska Dwiyani, a representative of PT NRS's Community Empowerment Division, stated that this collaboration reflects the company's commitment to supporting community empowerment and economic independence through the utilization of local resources. She said, "The development of Dayak onions is expected to bring tangible economic benefits to the farmer group, while also creating opportunities to develop village flagship commodities with added value and promising market potential."

The collaboration between PT NRS, the Madara Village farmer group, and KPHL Gerbang Barito is expected to strengthen farmer capacity, maintain production continuity, and encourage the development of productive, inclusive, and sustainable local agricultural supply chains. PT Nusantara Raya Solusi is a licensed forest resource management enterprise (PBPH) currently developing the South Barito Kapuas Carbon Project, which mitigates climate change through sustainable conservation and forest ecosystem management. PT NRS is responsible for the development and implementation of the project, including carbon project development activities and stakeholder engagement in South Barito and Kapuas Regencies, Central Kalimantan Province.
