en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 17, the front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for the fifth-phase development project of the Menzel Ledjmet Nord (MLN) oil and gas field in Algeria was awarded, with the design scope covering a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) recovery unit and associated water injection facilities. The project is operated by Pertamina Algeria EP.

The MLN oil and gas field is located in Block 405a of the Berkine Basin, Algeria, approximately 275 kilometers southeast of Hassi Messaoud. Project partners include Algeria's national oil and gas company Sonatrach, Indonesia's Pertamina, and Spain's Repsol, which are advancing the field development through a joint venture.

The joint venture launched international open tender No. 2557 (25) in November 2025, with evaluation conducted in two stages: technical bid and commercial bid. The winning contractor will complete the front-end engineering design in four major phases, and will also undertake project management, engineering software, technical staffing, design supervision, and related support services.

The production sharing contract signed by the three parties for the Menzel Ledjmet block took effect on January 7, 2025, with a contract term of 25 years. In addition to the LPG recovery unit and water injection facilities, the fifth-phase development plan also covers development wells, wellsite connections, and other oil and gas production facilities. Pertamina has previously proposed building an LPG plant with an annual capacity of 1 million tons in the block.
