en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 17, Chevron confirmed that its Angolan subsidiary, Cabinda Gulf Oil Company, discovered oil, gas, and condensate in exploration well 105-4X in Block 0 offshore. The well is located in the Lower Congo Basin, with the primary exploration target being the Pinda reservoir. The encountered oil, gas, and condensate column exceeds 600 meters, with a net pay thickness of over 90 meters, and the reservoir rock quality has been rated as excellent.

Cabinda Gulf Oil Company, which operates the drilling operations, holds a 39.2% working interest in Block 0. Angola's national oil exploration and production company holds a 41% stake, TotalEnergies holds 10%, and Azule Energy holds 9.8%.

Chevron plans to evaluate the feasibility of tying this discovery into nearby existing production facilities. This approach would leverage the existing offshore processing and transportation systems in Block 0, with subsequent work focusing on resource scale, development conditions, and facility integration options.
