en.Wedoany.com Reported - EHang has entered into a strategic cooperation with China State Construction Engineering Corporation Sixth Engineering Bureau (CSCEC Sixth Engineering Bureau) to jointly advance the development of low-altitude aviation infrastructure in China, with the Hainan cross-sea corridor project becoming the first implemented project under the cooperation framework.

According to the strategic cooperation framework agreement signed by both parties, the cooperation covers the development and planning of infrastructure required for low-altitude flight operations. CSCEC Sixth Engineering Bureau is responsible for providing construction and infrastructure capabilities, while EHang contributes eVTOL aircraft, technical expertise, and operational support.

The cross-sea low-altitude corridor project in Lingao, Hainan, has commenced construction. Centered around Maniao General Aviation Airport, the project plans to establish multiple operational sites and vertiports distributed along the coastline. The two parties intend to launch point-to-point passenger eVTOL routes and introduce cross-sea shuttle services connecting Hainan and Guangdong.

The project's first large-scale flight hub, WingHub South Sea, is currently under construction and will feature an operations and exhibition center, vertiports specifically designed for EHang's unmanned aircraft, and testing areas.

The implementation of this project builds on EHang's previous testing of cross-sea operations. In December 2025, an EHang EH216-S aircraft completed a 22-kilometer flight across the Qiongzhou Strait in 18 minutes, connecting Haikou in Hainan with Xuwen Port in Guangdong. Initial applications are expected to focus on aerial sightseeing, low-altitude logistics, training, and testing, with cross-sea passenger transport planned for subsequent phases.

This project aligns with Hainan's five-year transportation plan, which explicitly calls for the construction of island-wide and cross-sea low-altitude routes, the upgrade of general aviation airports, and the expansion of vertiport infrastructure.
