en.Wedoany.com Reported - AEG and Archer Aviation have announced a partnership to develop the city's first vertiport at L.A. LIVE, AEG's sports and entertainment district in downtown Los Angeles.

Facilitated by AEG Global Partnerships, the agreement designates Archer as the exclusive air taxi partner for L.A. LIVE, which is adjacent to The Los Angeles Convention Center and AEG's Crypto.com Arena.

The two parties will collaborate to build downtown Los Angeles' first vertiport

Once operational, the site will serve as a key downtown node in Archer's previously announced Los Angeles network, enabling local residents, artists, and visitors to travel to and from the area aboard Archer's Midnight aircraft.

Archer's Los Angeles network is positioned for point-to-point urban air taxi service. Under the plan, passengers flying on Midnight across the city could complete trips in as little as 10 to 20 minutes, compressing ground commutes of over an hour into shorter, all-electric flights.

Previously disclosed network sites include SoFi Stadium, the University of Southern California (USC), and Hollywood Burbank, with Archer's recently acquired Hawthorne Airport serving as the planned central operations hub.

Adam Goldstein, founder and CEO of Archer, stated that partnering with AEG on an iconic project like the L.A. LIVE vertiport gives the company the opportunity to continue building the infrastructure needed for Southern California to lead the new era of all-electric flight.

An initial feasibility study for the L.A. LIVE site has now been completed, covering land use and airspace reviews, power supply, and community impact assessments. The next phase has commenced, with both partners reviewing operational approaches and passenger experience, aiming to establish the site as Los Angeles' first downtown vertiport.

The site is planned to feature electric aviation charging equipment from BETA Technologies, as part of the ACES Alliance recently announced by the two companies. The alliance aims to build standardized charging infrastructure to support the expansion of air taxi operations in and around major metropolitan areas.

This partnership also supports Archer's preparations in Los Angeles as the official air taxi provider for the LA28 Olympics and Team USA. With the Downtown Los Angeles Zone (DTLA Zone) set to host 18 sports during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the project will position L.A. LIVE and downtown Los Angeles as a showcase for urban air mobility innovation ahead of the Games.
