en.Wedoany.com Reported - Scania Argentina has inaugurated its expanded and renovated service point in the province of San Juan, with an investment of USD 2.3 million, tripling the facility's working capacity to match the growth of its customers and the region's strategic industries, particularly mining. The Cuyo region holds strategic importance for Argentina's productive development, and this expansion further strengthens the company's service capabilities in the area.

The expanded service point has a built area of 1,950 square meters, including a 975-square-meter workshop and a 175-square-meter spare parts warehouse. The spare parts warehouse capacity has also been tripled to broaden parts availability and accelerate response to customers. The San Juan service point also features a training and reception area, driver lounge, changing rooms, medical room, and nursing room, along with a dedicated parking area, a 3,800-square-meter maneuvering yard, and vehicle washing and display zones.

Scania's operations in San Juan began in 2016 with the opening of its first branch, primarily serving domestic and international long-haul transport, fuel transportation, and other production sectors. In 2022, the company moved its operations to the current location; with continued growth in business and customer demand, the site has now been expanded. This year marks Scania's 50th consecutive year of operations in Argentina.

"This investment reflects our commitment to continue supporting national and local economic development. Strengthening our service network allows us to anticipate customer needs and support their growth with infrastructure, technology, and trained personnel close to where they operate," said Sebastián Figueroa, CEO and President of Scania Argentina.

This expansion comes at a time of rising mining activity in San Juan and the Cuyo region. Scania offers vehicles configured for demanding operating conditions and participates in local mining projects with a comprehensive offering covering products, services, connectivity, maintenance, technical knowledge, and financing. In addition, the company delivers on-site services through its Customer Workshop Services (CWS) model, deploying technical teams to work directly at mine sites to reduce downtime, accelerate response, and improve vehicle availability.

"Many people have been with us since we opened our first branch in 2016, and today we are taking a new step to respond to a region that has changed and demands increasingly higher operational standards," said Sandro Milazzotto, Cuyo Regional Director at Scania Argentina.

In terms of environmental sustainability, all areas of the service point use LED lighting, and an industrial wastewater treatment plant has been added, enabling the reuse of 70% of the water used for washing trucks and components.
