Since entering service in 2004, the E-Jet family has consistently expanded its market presence through passenger comfort, operational efficiency, and industry-benchmark reliability. Currently, E-Jets operate with more than 90 airlines across over 60 countries, with the fleet accumulating approximately 48 million flight hours and transporting more than 2.85 billion passengers. Embraer stated that the E-Jet family has become one of the world's three major commercial jet aircraft families.

Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, said that the delivery of the 2,000th E-Jet marks a significant milestone for both Embraer and the global air transport industry. The E-Jet family has played a key role in connecting communities, opening new markets, and creating sustainable growth opportunities for airlines, and Embraer is proud to celebrate this moment with Azul, a long-term partner.

Azul is Brazil's largest airline by number of destinations served. As a strategic operator of Embraer aircraft, the company has operated more than 140 E-Jets since it began operations in 2008, playing a key role in expanding regional connectivity across Brazil. It is also a strategic partner for the E2 family and the launch customer of the E195-E2, having received its first aircraft of this model in 2019.

John Rodgerson, CEO of Azul, recalled that on December 15, 2008, an E190 registered as PR-AZL operated Azul's inaugural flight. Rodgerson noted that Embraer aircraft have since helped Azul expand the reach of Brazil's aviation network, shorten distances between cities, drive market development, and create new opportunities for millions of passengers. He said that this 2,000th E-Jet, which is also the 50th E2 family aircraft received by Azul, holds special significance for the airline, reflecting the value of the partnership in transforming regional aviation, enhancing Brazil's connectivity, and improving the passenger onboard experience.

The E-Jet family comprises the first-generation E170, E175, E190, E195, and the second-generation E190-E2 and E195-E2. The family's market performance has enabled Embraer to expand its business scope beyond the traditional regional aviation market and secure a prominent position in the global small narrowbody jet segment.
