Axis Energy Secures 552 MWp Solar EPC Contract in Andhra Pradesh, India
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Axis Energy has been awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for a 552 MWp utility-scale solar project in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The project is targeted to achieve commercial operation within 18 months.
The project developer is Evren, a joint venture between Brookfield and Axis Energy. Evren is a renewable energy development platform launched by Brookfield in India, operating in partnership with Axis Energy, with an initial goal of building over 7 GW of renewable energy assets over the next 4 to 5 years.
The solar project is part of a 400 MW hybrid renewable energy project combining wind, solar, and storage, integrating a battery energy storage system (BESS) and connected to the state grid, designed to supply power during peak demand hours. Axis Energy is also executing the EPC works for the 640.5 MW wind component of the project, which is currently under construction.
The project is supported by a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company (APSPDCL). In August 2026, Evren also signed a 750 MW power purchase agreement with NTPC, covering solar, wind, and storage assets in Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan.
