TCS's HyperVault Plans INR 700 Billion Investment in 1GW AI Data Center Campus

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 5, HyperVault, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), acquired 264 acres of land in Hyderabad, India, to build an AI data center campus with a maximum capacity of 1GW. HyperVault and its partners plan to invest up to INR 700 billion for the campus construction and operations. The project will be implemented in phases, with the scale of each phase determined by customer demand and technical requirements.

The campus is built for frontier AI companies and hyperscale cloud service providers, with computing infrastructure configured to meet high-density GPU deployment requirements for AI training, inference, and advanced computing workloads. TCS confirmed that the project will adopt liquid-cooled computing infrastructure, with data center rooms and power supply and distribution systems constructed to support high-density computing equipment operating conditions.

The project site covers 264 acres, approximately equivalent to 106.8 hectares. Deepesh Kiran Nanda, CEO of HyperVault, stated that the campus will be designed around high rack power density, large-scale power modules, liquid cooling, and next-generation GPU systems. The planned capacity is up to 1GW, which will not be built all at once; subsequent capacity deployment will be aligned with customer contracts and computing demand.

The campus will adopt green energy and water-neutral design principles during construction. TCS has included power, cooling, networking, building, engineering, and operations in the project's infrastructure framework. The construction and operation phases are expected to create thousands of direct and indirect jobs.
