en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 9, Contour Airlines announced that it will launch a seasonal nonstop route between Cape Girardeau Regional Airport (CGI) in Missouri and Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) in Florida, starting December 16, 2026. The route is scheduled to operate through March 27, 2027, with one round trip each on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Tickets are now on sale. The route has not yet entered service; the current phase is route announcement and ticket sales.

The specific schedule is as follows: the CGI–SFB flight departs at 9:40 local time and arrives at 13:00; the return flight departs SFB at 13:50 and arrives at CGI at 15:10. Both directions operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with a seasonal operating period of approximately three and a half months.

Contour Airlines will operate the route with 30-seat regional jets. The company's existing regional fleet includes the ERJ-135 and ERJ-145, with their 30-seat configurations used for regional route operations; the company's publicly available ERJ-135 configuration information shows that the aircraft has a 30-seat cabin layout with 36-inch seat pitch. The Cape Girardeau–Orlando route announcement did not further specify whether the ERJ-135 or ERJ-145 will be used.

The new route will continue Contour Airlines' seasonal Florida route arrangements at Cape Girardeau. From May 6 to September 5, 2026, the company operated a nonstop route from Cape Girardeau to Pensacola, also with Wednesday and Saturday frequencies; that route ended its seasonal operation for the year on September 5. The airport is also currently served by Contour with flights to Chicago O'Hare and Dallas Fort Worth.

The new route also marks Contour Airlines' first entry into the Orlando Sanford International Airport market. Orlando Sanford International Airport confirmed that the route is scheduled to begin operating on December 16, and Contour will become the third airline added at the airport in the past year; the airport currently offers more than 70 nonstop destinations.
