ENGIE France Signs 568MW Texas Wind Power Supply Agreement with Oracle
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 17, ENGIE North America, a subsidiary of French energy company ENGIE, announced that it had signed multiple renewable energy supply agreements with Oracle. Through a wind power resource portfolio connected to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) market, it will provide up to 568MW of renewable electricity to Oracle's Texas operations. The agreements announced by ENGIE use a wind power resource portfolio for supply, but did not disclose the names of individual wind projects, the corresponding capacity of each project, the term of the agreements, or the specific start date of power supply.

This 568MW supply arrangement is part of Oracle's recent concentrated allocation of wind power resources in Texas. Oracle announced on September 15 that it had configured more than 1.7GW of carbon-free power around 10 wind projects in Texas, with suppliers including Clearway Energy, ENGIE, RWE, and Scout Clean Energy. The relevant projects supply power to the ERCOT grid, which also supplies Oracle's AI data center facility in Abilene, Texas.
According to Oracle's disclosure, the combined annual generation of these 10 wind projects corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 525,000 U.S. households; based on the projects' expected generation and the U.S. eGrid emission factors, this corresponds to approximately 1.8 million tons of avoided carbon dioxide emissions per year compared with existing ERCOT grid electricity. The above data correspond to Oracle's overall 1.7GW wind portfolio and are not a separate calculation for ENGIE's 568MW supply agreement.
Oracle has directly linked its carbon-free power procurement to its Texas AI infrastructure buildout. The company has proposed achieving 100% matching of electricity consumption with carbon-free power for its existing AI data centers by 2035. Oracle currently operates and builds AI data center capacity in Abilene, Texas. As of September 2026, it has delivered 75% of planned total capacity, with the remaining capacity scheduled for continued delivery over the following quarters; the company's another data center project in Shackelford, Texas, is planned to begin delivering customer capacity in the first half of 2027.
ENGIE North America currently has approximately 12GW of power generation capacity in operation or under construction in North America, including 25 onshore wind operating projects with an installed capacity of approximately 3,275MW, and its total onshore wind operating portfolio is approximately 4GW. The 568MW agreement signed with Oracle is supported by ENGIE's existing and related wind resource portfolio, rather than the separate announcement of a new 568MW wind project.
