Kazakhstan Launches Fufeng Corn Deep Processing Industrial Park with First-Phase Annual Processing Capacity of 500,000 Tons

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 25, during the "Kazakhstan–China" Investment Forum in Almaty, Kazakh President Tokayev launched the construction of the corn deep processing industrial park in Zhambyl Region via video link. The project is implemented by China's Fufeng Group, with first-phase investment of US$350 million and a planned annual corn processing capacity of 500,000 tons. The Kazakh Presidential Administration listed Fufeng Group as one of the world's leading enterprises in the field of bio-fermentation.

The project will expand production scale in phases. According to the plan announced on September 25, the second phase will raise the annual corn processing capacity to 3 million tons while expanding the product range, with planned investment of US$1.15 billion for this phase. Once completed, the industrial park is planned to form a complete processing chain from corn raw material input to deep-processed product output, and create approximately 1,500 jobs.

Raw material supply has also been incorporated into the project implementation arrangements. When Tokayev met with Fufeng Group Chairman Li Xuechun that day, he proposed the need to establish a stable raw material supply system and agricultural planting belt around the industrial park. Li Xuechun stated that Fufeng plans to establish long-term cooperative relationships with local agricultural producers in Kazakhstan, carry out corn procurement, and simultaneously advance the training of professional personnel.

Zhambyl Region had previously listed corn deep processing as a key local agricultural industry project. According to publicly available plans of the local government, with the advancement of related water conservancy facility renovations, the regional corn planting area is planned to expand to 80,000 hectares by 2029, and the scale of corn supplied to processing enterprises will be increased. After this industrial park moved from construction launch into the implementation stage, the first-phase processing facilities will first form a raw material consumption capacity of 500,000 tons per year, and later expand to 3 million tons per year according to plan.
