India's Madhya Bharat Agro 300 t/d Phosphoric Acid Plant Commissioned

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 28, India's Madhya Bharat Agro Products officially commenced commercial production at its 300 t/d phosphoric acid plant located in Dhule, Maharashtra. The plant has a designed annual capacity of approximately 99,000 tonnes and is a key production unit of the company's integrated phosphate fertilizer project in Dhule. It will operate in conjunction with the local DAP/NPK, sulfuric acid, and single superphosphate production facilities.

The Dhule site is built around an integrated phosphate fertilizer industry chain. The existing project portfolio includes 330,000 t/y single superphosphate, 198,000 t/y sulfuric acid, and 330,000 t/y DAP/NPK compound fertilizer production capacity. The 330,000 t/y single superphosphate plant commenced commercial production on March 31, 2026, and the sulfuric acid facility subsequently achieved stable operation. With the commissioning of the 99,000 t/y phosphoric acid capacity, the site has further established a production system spanning from sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid intermediate raw materials to phosphate fertilizer products.

The company previously obtained approximately INR 2.02 billion in project financing for the Dhule project construction phase from a banking consortium comprising State Bank of India, Axis Bank, and Federal Bank. As of the end of September 2025, approximately INR 750 million had been drawn down, with cumulative project investment of approximately INR 1.99 billion. The Dhule site has also added approximately 52,600 square meters of adjacent land, expanding the total plant land reserve to approximately 638,000 square meters for existing works and future capacity expansion.

Madhya Bharat Agro's original Sagar site has a phosphoric acid capacity of approximately 69,000 t/y. With the addition of 99,000 t/y at Dhule, the company's total phosphoric acid production capacity reaches approximately 168,000 t/y. The company also operates DAP/NPK and sulfuric acid facilities at Sagar, and in March 2026 completed the commissioning of an additional 90,000 t/y DAP/NPK and 165,000 t/y sulfuric acid capacity.

Future expansion at Dhule is planned to add 330,000 t/y DAP/NPK, 66,000 t/y phosphoric acid, and 396,000 t/y sulfuric acid capacity, with commissioning targeted around October 2027. Upon completion of the planned projects, the company will continue to expand its integrated production capacity across phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, and compound fertilizers.
