en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 12, Indian precision manufacturing company Aequs announced the signing of multiple long-term component supply agreements with French aerospace company Safran, covering machining of superalloy components, as well as precision machining, coating treatment, and assembly of aircraft landing gear parts. The related manufacturing tasks cover aircraft programs including the Airbus A320, A330, A350, and Boeing 787, and will be executed using India's existing aviation manufacturing facilities as well as additional production capacity to be added later.

This signing builds on the existing cooperation between Aequs and Safran Landing Systems, expanding the manufacturing collaboration to Safran Aerosystems. The new agreements involve two types of manufacturing tasks: one is the machining of superalloy material components, and the other is the precision machining, coating treatment, and assembly of aircraft landing gear components. The public announcement has not yet itemized the procurement lists and part models corresponding to each business entity.

Aequs will use the existing integrated manufacturing facilities at the Belagavi Aerospace Cluster in Karnataka state to execute the relevant orders. This base integrates forging, precision machining, special processes, surface treatment, and assembly operations, and is capable of undertaking multiple production tasks for aviation metal components from front-end material forming to back-end assembly. The machining and surface treatment work involved in the new contracts will be carried out relying on the existing manufacturing system.

Aequs is building the Aequs Engine Components Ecosystem (AECE) in Hosur, Tamil Nadu state, and plans to carry out medium-to-large aviation component manufacturing at this base. The signing announcement lists Hosur as part of the subsequent capacity layout, but does not clearly delineate the order quantities, part models, and manufacturing processes between it and the Belagavi base.

In July 2026, Aequs signed a long-term supply agreement with Safran Landing Systems for Airbus A320 family aircraft wheel assemblies, with the contract term extending to 2042. The contract covers wheel manufacturing, assembly, and testing using aluminum sourced from India, and is Aequs's first aviation component mass production agreement exceeding 15 years.
