en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 21, the Moscow municipal government published the renovation plan for the Veterans Rehabilitation Center, which will convert the former Social Rehabilitation Center for War Veterans located near Yekaterininsky Park into a comprehensive rehabilitation facility. The project involves two three-story buildings with a total floor area of approximately 22,000 square meters. The renovation work commenced in January 2026 and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027. Once completed, the center will primarily provide rehabilitation and social support services to Russian veterans of the Russia-Ukraine war and their families.

The renovation will reconfigure the internal functional spaces of the two buildings. One building will house a comprehensive support service center, cultural activity areas, and sports training facilities, while the other will focus on hydropathic rehabilitation facilities and massage therapy spaces. The medical rehabilitation area will be equipped with diagnostic equipment, gait recovery training facilities, exercise rehabilitation and physiotherapy rooms, as well as dedicated spaces for motor function training.

The hydropathic area is planned to include a swimming pool, hydro-massage baths, saunas, contrast shower facilities, and flotation therapy equipment. The center will also feature art therapy studios, a library, music and dance classrooms, and will adopt a day-care and short-term rehabilitation service model. The relevant facilities will be concentrated within the complex formed by the renovation of the existing buildings.

The improvement project for Yekaterininsky Park, carried out in parallel with the rehabilitation center renovation, is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. It includes restoring three pavilions in the park, improving the pond shoreline, repairing the waterfront stairs, and constructing boat docking facilities and an open-air amphitheater. The park will also see the renewal of tennis courts, the construction of sports facilities featuring a heated football pitch, and the addition of a family activity center and other public leisure spaces.
