Sandvik of Sweden Wins Order for 25 Underground Mining Equipment Units from Australia

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 23, Swedish mining equipment manufacturer Sandvik announced that it had received an order from Australian gold producer Northern Star Resources for 25 units of underground mining equipment, which will be used at the company's underground gold mining operations in Western Australia. The order includes 14 underground loaders, 10 underground mining trucks, and 1 development drill rig. It has been included in Sandvik's third-quarter 2026 orders, with deliveries scheduled to begin in June 2027 and to be completed progressively by early 2028.

The loading equipment procured consists of 14 Toro LH621i underground loaders, the hauling equipment consists of 10 Toro TH663i underground mining trucks, and the order also includes 1 Sandvik DD422i development drill rig. Both the loaders and the mining trucks are equipped with equipment connectivity, real-time operational data analysis, and automation-ready features, and adopt equipment structural designs that facilitate maintenance, serving underground mine loading and hauling operations.

Northern Star Mining Services, the wholly owned mine services division of Northern Star Resources, will be responsible for the on-site operation and maintenance of the 25 units of equipment. Sandvik's Australian team will be responsible for supporting equipment delivery, on-site commissioning, and subsequent full life-cycle technical support. The equipment will progressively enter the customer's mine equipment system during the delivery period from June 2027 to early 2028.
