en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 26, U.S. telecom operator Verizon announced that it has signed an artificial intelligence infrastructure agreement worth more than $2 billion with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Verizon will provide dark fiber connectivity to support the computing needs of generative artificial intelligence and agentic applications. The agreement was signed in the third quarter of 2026.

Under the agreement, the two parties will establish a commercial cooperation framework to expand distributed computing capabilities to meet the real-time processing requirements of relevant artificial intelligence workloads. The fiber infrastructure provided by Verizon will be used for data center connectivity.

The two parties had previously collaborated on data center fiber networks. In November 2025, Verizon announced the construction of high-capacity fiber lines connecting data centers for AWS, with the cooperation covering long-distance, low-latency network connectivity.

Verizon's third-quarter results, also announced on the same day, showed that the company added 406,000 postpaid mobile phone users, with mobile and broadband service revenue reaching $23.5 billion, up 2.9% year over year. The company raised its full-year 2026 net postpaid mobile phone user growth forecast to 1.1 million to 1.2 million.
