en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 26, Intel Corporation of the United States announced that it has signed a definitive acquisition agreement to acquire Classiq, an Israeli quantum computing software company. The two parties plan to integrate Classiq's quantum algorithm automated synthesis platform with Intel's silicon spin qubit technology, semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, and existing software systems to build a full-stack quantum computing platform covering quantum hardware, software development, and applications. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2027.

Classiq's core technology is a software development platform that is independent of specific qubit types and hardware architectures, capable of converting high-level quantum algorithm models into executable quantum circuits using automated synthesis technology. The platform integrates AI agents, a high-level quantum modeling language, and design automation tools, and supports quantum hardware performance benchmarking, cost and performance optimization, and execution of applications across different quantum computing hardware platforms.

Intel plans to integrate its own quantum computing software platform, scalable silicon spin qubit technology, and semiconductor manufacturing processes with Classiq's software capabilities, and to add quantum processing units (QPUs) to its existing portfolio of central processing units (CPUs), graphics processing units (GPUs), and application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). Intel also plans to continue using traditional silicon-based semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes to produce qubit chips and associated cryogenic control electronics.

Under the terms of the transaction, after the acquisition is completed, Intel plans to retain Classiq's existing multi-platform integration capabilities and continue to support software development and application across different quantum hardware architectures. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, and the two parties will continue to operate independently until completion.
