en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, the expansion project of the cement import terminal of SESCO Cement in Houston, Texas, USA, was completed and put into operation, and a commissioning ceremony was held. The project added 8 concrete storage silos and dedicated rail loading facilities, bringing the terminal's total bulk cement storage capacity to 250,000 tons. The expanded facilities include an independent rail loading system, and the project has transitioned from the construction and commissioning phase to the operational phase.

The newly built rail loading facilities are equipped with 3 dedicated loading silos with a combined storage capacity of 3,000 tons, and the loading rate of a single loading lane is 300 tons per hour. The supporting rail yard can accommodate up to 80 railcars, enabling rail transport to be organized directly from the port's cement storage system.

The Houston terminal originally had 5 storage dome silos; after the expansion, it has formed a storage facility combining silos and dome silos. The terminal is equipped with a ship unloader with a handling capacity of 1,500 tons per hour, as well as two fully automated bagged cement packaging lines, each with a handling capacity of 1,800 bags per hour.

The rail loading facilities commissioned together with this expansion are integrated with the cement storage, ship unloading, and packaging systems, covering operations including imported cement unloading, bulk storage, bagging, and rail outbound shipment.
