en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 20, UK building materials company Breedon Group announced that its asphalt plant in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England, had completed equipment renewal and resumed operation. The upgrade replaced the original production units with modern asphalt production equipment redeployed from within the group, raising the plant's production capacity to 240 tonnes per hour and adding two finished-product storage silos of 45 tonnes each.

The upgrade project involved the demolition of old production units, site civil works, installation of new equipment and electrical system construction. Breedon separately commissioned GBM Demolition of Louth to dismantle the original equipment, BH Construction of Scunthorpe to undertake the civil works, SES Engineering of Newark to build the new production facilities, and ARC Electrical of Brigg to carry out the electrical installation. After the contractors completed their respective works, the plant resumed asphalt production.

The new storage silos have a total capacity of 90 tonnes and can store mixed asphalt material, with loading and supply arranged according to customer orders. Breedon plans to use the new storage facilities to support the subsequent production of specialty asphalt products, while the plant's existing production line mainly serves road construction and other infrastructure projects in the Lincolnshire coastal area.
