Uzbekistan Telecom Upgrades 1,566 Base Stations and Commissions 380 New Sites
en.Wedoany.com Reported - As of October 18, 2026, Uzbekistan's national telecommunications operator Uztelecom has completed the modernization of 1,566 base stations and newly commissioned 380 base stations under its 2025–2026 mobile communication network development plan. The project covers the Republic of Karakalpakstan, all 12 provinces nationwide, and the capital Tashkent. Currently, 375 base stations support 5G communication, and 442 radio frequency expansion tasks have also been completed.

According to the project progress released by Uztelecom on October 22, the original target for base station modernization was 1,507, and the actual completion exceeded the plan by 59, achieving a completion rate of 104%. Among them, Tashkent city modernized 194, Tashkent province 189, Samarkand province 142, Andijan province and Surkhandarya province 134 each, Fergana province 128, Kashkadarya province 125, and Namangan province 119. Of the country's 14 administrative regions, 12 exceeded their original targets, and Navoiy province completed all planned tasks.
In terms of new base stations, 380 have been officially put into operation, accounting for 88% of the planned 431. Samarkand province added 62, Tashkent city and Kashkadarya province added 52 each, Surkhandarya province 39, and Bukhara province 31. Tashkent, Bukhara, and Navoiy provinces have exceeded their respective planned targets for new base stations, while Samarkand and Khorezm provinces have completed their planned construction volumes.
The network expansion project also completed 442 frequency resource expansion tasks, focusing on Kashkadarya, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Surkhandarya regions. The related construction expands the network's data carrying capacity under high-concurrency access conditions by increasing the radio frequency resources of existing base stations.
5G network construction has covered all 14 administrative regions nationwide. Among them, Tashkent city has deployed 189 5G-capable base stations, Samarkand province 84, Tashkent province 19, Andijan province 13, Fergana province and Namangan province 12 each, and Kashkadarya province 11. This construction is part of the cumulative implementation results of Uztelecom's 2025–2026 network development plan, and some planned new site construction is still underway.
