en.Wedoany.com Reported - Paratus Tanzania, a subsidiary of Namibian pan-African communications service provider Paratus Group, has established a new network Point of Presence (PoP) at the Wingu data center in Dar es Salaam and connected it to the group's communications backbone network spanning multiple African countries. The node was officially launched on October 26, extending northward via Mombasa to Nairobi, Kenya, and southward to Maputo, Mozambique, Johannesburg, South Africa, and Eswatini, with international connectivity to Europe and the United States.

The new node is deployed within the Wingu data center and connects to Paratus's existing regional backbone communications infrastructure, providing IP transit, Layer 2 dedicated lines, wholesale network capacity, and international communications connectivity services to local telecommunications operators, internet service providers, and enterprise customers in Tanzania. Customers can access Paratus's communications network covering East Africa, Southern Africa, and overseas through this node.

In terms of regional network connectivity, the Dar es Salaam node is incorporated into Paratus's Kigali–Mombasa (K2M) fiber network strategy, connecting Kenya, Rwanda, and other East African markets through existing cross-border communications routes, and accessing relevant international submarine cable capacity resources. The node also connects to Paratus's network facilities in East Africa and Southern Africa, handling regional communications traffic interconnection and international bandwidth access services.

Paratus Tanzania began operations in March 2025 through a joint venture with local company Green Telecom. The new node's communications services are provided by its local business team, covering cross-border data transmission, carrier network interconnection, and enterprise international dedicated line connectivity.
