en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 28, Tullow Ghana awarded the gas lift riser re-termination contract for the Jubilee field to Norwegian offshore services company DeepOcean. The work will be carried out using DeepOcean's subsea construction vessel Orient Adventurer, with offshore operations scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.

DeepOcean will be responsible for project management, engineering, riser disconnection, deck-side re-termination, reconnection, and pre-commissioning. The scope covers the gas lift riser connecting the Kwame Nkrumah FPSO to the Jubilee subsea production system: the riser will be disconnected from the FPSO end, the termination joint replaced on the vessel deck, and the riser reconnected, with pre-commissioning performed to confirm the integrity and safety of the system before gas injection resumes.

The execution vessel Orient Adventurer is equipped with a 2,500-tonne under-deck turntable and a 275-tonne vertical pipe-laying system. The riser will be deployed vertically through the moonpool rather than over the stern ramp, allowing control of the entry angle and top tension under dynamic positioning. The contract will be executed by DeepOcean Ghana Limited, with project teams based in Accra, Ghana, and Sète, France.

The Jubilee field is located approximately 60 kilometers offshore Ghana in water depths of about 1,100 meters; the Kwame Nkrumah FPSO has a crude oil processing capacity of more than 120,000 barrels per day, and the gas lift riser is the conduit for reinjecting processed natural gas into the subsea production system to sustain well productivity. The operation is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, corresponding to the repair window following a temporary shutdown of the gas lift conduit.
