Pasadena, USA Advances Two Road Rehabilitation and Accessibility Improvement Projects
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On November 6, the City of Pasadena, California, USA, announced the construction schedule for road rehabilitation projects on Fair Oaks Avenue and Los Robles Avenue. The projects cover approximately 1.27 miles (about 2.04 kilometers) across the two roads, with a maximum contract amount of $1,288,100, and Hardy & Harper Inc. is responsible for construction. The work includes milling and resurfacing of asphalt pavement, as well as repair or reconstruction of damaged curbs, sidewalks, gutters, driveway approaches, and accessible ramps.

According to the construction plan announced by the City of Pasadena, the Fair Oaks Avenue work segment runs from Washington Boulevard to Mountain Street, with pavement milling and resurfacing scheduled for November 12–13, 2026; the Los Robles Avenue work segment runs from Washington Boulevard to Orange Grove Boulevard, with the same operations scheduled for November 16–18. Concrete facility improvements on both road segments have been scheduled for completion by November 6, pavement marking removal is planned for November 9–10, and final marking restoration, adjustment of underground utility manhole covers, and installation of traffic signal inductive loops are planned for completion between November 19 and 25. The above construction dates are tentative and may be adjusted based on weather and site conditions.
Pavement construction adopts the method of milling followed by asphalt resurfacing to renew the existing road surface. Supporting works include removal and reconstruction of damaged curbs, gutters, sidewalks, accessible ramps, driveway entrance paving, and cross gutters, along with adjustment of underground utility inspection manholes, replacement of traffic signal inductive loops, and installation of raised pavement markers. The road improvements will address both pavement structure and ancillary facilities in a coordinated manner, improving vehicle traffic conditions and the accessibility of pedestrian crossing facilities.
The project contract was awarded on August 24, 2026, to Hardy & Harper Inc. of Lake Forest, with a maximum contract amount of $1,288,100, of which the company's bid amount is $1,171,000, plus a 10% contingency. An additional $30,000 is allocated for construction management, inspection, and supervision, bringing the overall funding arrangement to approximately $1,318,100. Construction funding comes from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and California's SB1 Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Program, with $1,125,000 of the federal grant earmarked specifically for this road rehabilitation and accessibility improvement work.
