Wedoany.com Report-Jul. 27, Chinese smart electric vehicle manufacturer NIO has announced the production of its 800,000th vehicle, marking a major milestone in the company's development. The vehicle was assembled at NIO’s Factory One in Hefei and is identified as the ONVO L90, a new model under the company’s ONVO brand. Pre-orders for the L90 began on July 10.

The ONVO L90 is positioned as a three-row electric SUV targeting family users. According to NIO, the vehicle addresses two key consumer concerns—charging convenience and interior space. Built on a decade of investment in charging and battery swap infrastructure, along with sustained technological innovation, the L90 aims to redefine the segment.

NIO stated: “The 800,000th vehicle is an ONVO L90. Since the pre-order started on July 10, the L90 has received widespread interest and recognition from users and the market. Built upon NIO’s ten years of investment in the charging and swapping infrastructure, as well as continuous technological innovation, the L90 redefines the family-oriented three-row electric SUV by tackling two major user pain points: charging anxiety and space anxiety.”

Test drives for the L90 began on July 23. Nearly 600 test drive vehicles are now available across more than 400 ONVO stores and showrooms in 140 cities in China. The official launch is scheduled for July 31, with deliveries beginning the next day, on August 1.

NIO described this production milestone as a new phase in its journey. The company said: “This 800,000 production milestone starts a new chapter for NIO. The company remains committed to continuous innovation, ultimate products, and beyond-expectation services. One step at a time, it is steadily advancing toward its next milestone: one million vehicles.”

Although NIO has not yet reached profitability, the company has stated that it aims to achieve this goal within the year. Based on its current production and sales pace, NIO is projected to reach the one million vehicle mark by early 2026.

The ONVO L90 is priced from RMB 279,900 (approximately $39,000), and with the Battery as a Service (BaaS) option, the price starts at RMB 193,900 (around $27,000). NIO highlights the model’s balance between technology and value, stating that the L90 “redefines value” within its segment.

In response to this achievement, NIO noted: “This milestone reflects the remarkable progress of China’s automotive industry in technology and innovation, and underscores NIO’s decade-long dedication to building full-stack capabilities.”

As the company moves forward, the L90 is expected to compete strongly in China’s dynamic EV market, known for its rapid growth and high competitiveness.
