Wedoany.com Report-Sept. 6, RES and Artıbir Enerji have signed Turkey’s first international and independent long-term operation and maintenance (O&M) contract for wind energy projects. The agreement covers the 30MW Yeniköy and Yılmaz wind farms located in Canakkale and Izmir. These projects consist of eight Siemens Gamesa SG132 3.75MW turbines.
Under the contract, RES will provide a full range of services including maintenance, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and round-the-clock remote control operations. The company will also support major components such as blades, gearboxes, and generators. Additionally, procurement support for spare parts will be available when required.
The partnership highlights a new approach to turbine management in Turkey by introducing an independent model for long-term O&M services. This arrangement is expected to improve performance reliability while offering investors increased confidence in project sustainability.
General manager of RES Turkey, Geert Dooms, said: “This agreement represents RES’s first services contract in Turkey and introduces a new independent model for long-term turbine maintenance. By bringing our global know-how into Turkey’s growing renewables market, we are creating a trusted blueprint for the sector and unlocking new value for investors.”
General manager of Artıbir Enerji, Güray Erol, also emphasized the importance of the cooperation: “This agreement with RES not only secures the operation and maintenance of our wind farms but also opens a new chapter for Turkey’s renewable energy sector. By requesting the flow of internationally accumulated expertise and targeting to increase our availability rates, we aim to deliver more efficient and reliable clean energy for Turkey’s growing demand. Combining our local strength with RES’s global expertise, we are proud to enhance our contribution to Turkey’s clean energy transition.”
The Yeniköy and Yılmaz wind farms play an important role in meeting the region’s energy needs through renewable sources. With RES’s involvement, the projects are expected to operate at higher efficiency levels while maintaining consistent availability. The independent O&M model introduced through this agreement is seen as a potential path forward for similar projects in Turkey and the wider region.
This cooperation reflects the growing focus on sustainable energy solutions and the adoption of global expertise in local markets. By blending international experience with domestic capabilities, the agreement aims to improve energy generation performance, support long-term sector growth, and provide dependable clean power to meet Turkey’s increasing demand.
The contract demonstrates how international and local collaboration can set new standards for the renewable energy sector, encouraging further investment and innovation in Turkey’s wind industry. With this partnership, RES and Artıbir Enerji aim to ensure reliability, efficiency, and enhanced operational standards for wind power development in the country.
