Tilt Renewables Launches Latrobe Valley Battery Energy Storage System

Wedoany.com Report-Sept. 8, Tilt Renewables has announced progress on its Latrobe Valley Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), a project located near Morwell, south-west of Melbourne. The large-scale facility is designed to support Victoria’s clean energy transition and its 95% renewable energy target by 2035.

Victorian Minister for Climate Action, Energy and Resources, Lily D’Ambrosio, highlighted the significance of the development: “It will help us meet our ambitious 95% renewable energy target by 2035 and ensure Victorians have access to affordable, secure power.”

The Latrobe Valley BESS functions by storing surplus electricity, especially from solar generation during the daytime, and discharging it when demand is high, such as in the evenings.
