Wedoany.com Report-Sept. 9, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries announced on Monday that it has secured a 409.5 billion won ($292 million) contract to build two container carriers for a client based in Asia. The company confirmed in a regulatory filing that the vessels will be delivered to the undisclosed shipping company by February 2028.

HD Hyundai Heavy is one of three main affiliates under HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), alongside HD Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard. HD KSOE serves as a subholding company of HD Hyundai, which was formerly known as Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings.

The new order adds to HD KSOE’s strong performance this year. As of now, the company has accumulated orders worth $11.75 billion for the construction of 86 vessels. This figure represents 65.1 percent of its annual target of $18.05 billion, highlighting steady progress toward meeting its objectives.
